Terrible experience. Never got to taste the food. Given the high number of good reviews, it seems my experience was abnormal, but it's all I have to go by. Short version: they lost my order, placed my order again, didn't make it right away, and ran out of food before they tried to make it. I got my money back and wasted part of my afternoon. I arrived on a nice Sunday afternoon in early June. I was in line to place my order when I heard the students running the place talking about calling someone back because they had run out of what they ordered (brats). They called the buzzer for that customer who came back and reordered. They then also realized they were out of pork and had to call another customer back to do the same thing. ***(1) Selling food you don't have - not great. No brats at the \\brat haus//. No pork. I ordered the brisket sandwich. I was given a buzzer and went outside to wait and it seemed to be taking quite a while, but I knew they were busy, so I just enjoyed the nice weather with friends while I waited. Some other friends then arrived 10-15 minutes later, ordered, got their food, and came to sit with us. At this point I knew something was up. So I went back inside and said I was just checking on my order since I knew people that ordered after me had gotten their food. When I walked back in, the girl making the food was on the phone urging someone that they needed to come in and help. The cashier checked with her and they did not have my order. Apparently they were experiencing issues with the printer. He hand wrote my order and put it in back as if I had just ordered. ***(2) Losing orders - not great. ***(3) Not buzzing the buzzers that you didn't have an order for right away when you realized the printer wasn't working - not great. ***(4) My re-order was treated as a new order, not put at the front of the line - not great. I decided to wait this time. At some point, I heard they were nearly out of brisket, so they stopped selling it. "We're out of everything but chicken" is what everyone in line started hearing. I was optimistic and hoped that they would still fill my order. Finally, the person before my reorder came back in to pick up her order (and commented that I was still waiting). They had only made half of her order and made the second sandwich on the fly for her. *** On the fly order when you mess it up - so you do know that this is a thing. Not sure why mine didn't qualify for that. My order was next and as they looked at my order, they came back to the front and told the cashier they were out of brisket, so they couldn't fill that order. ***(5) Selling food you don't have - not great (still). I asked for my money back and as I walked out, the cashier said he was sorry. ***(6) No offer of compensation (or food) for waiting patiently for food twice only to never get it - not great. I actually felt kind of sorry for the kids working there - they obviously hadn't been trained to handle a rush and they weren't able to reach their boss to help handle the situation. It seemed like the perfect storm of things going on and they were definitely not prepared for it. Unfortunate for me, hopefully you have a better experience.

Best brisket I have ever had.

Cherri is the best! Wonderful food, great selection of aromatics, and sometimes they even have more food than their normal menu. Ask about the other restaurant on Monticello, the Twisted Tree!
